Established in the year 1840, the "Liqueur de Santé" represents the inaugural liqueur created using the original recipe of the Elixir Végétal de la Grande Chartreuse. Known as 'Chartreuse Verte,' its distinct character stems from its natural hue, robust potency, and intricate aromatic profile crafted from a blend of 130 different plants, including flowers, bark, roots, and spices.

The production of this exceptional liqueur is a multi-week process carried out in various stages:

1. Monks at the Grande Chartreuse monastery grind the plants to create the base materials.
2. Distillation is performed to extract the essence and aroma.
3. Diverse maceration processes are employed to extract the active components from the plants, imbuing the liqueur with its natural color.

Following these steps, it undergoes a lengthy aging process within oak casks before being bottled, allowing it to further mature and enhance its complexity while inside the bottle.
